I finished second in my heat race; the car was too tight on entry so I decided I'd make some spring changes in hopes of making it better. Big mistake I freed the car up going into the corner but had a horrible push from there on out. I basically tried to hold on and fought like a dog to finish eleventh. Mod57

| Jackson County Speedway 5/9/09 |

Too much rain on Friday caused Indee to cancel the races there so we ventured to Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa. I started fifteenth in the feature and passed several cars before the caution flag flew. While they were lining us up I noticed something didn’t feel right and realized I had a flat tire. Kevin and some guys stuck on a spare but I was a lap down. I didn’t have a great night myself but got to see Chip Kohl a good friend of mine win the Street Stock feature. Mod57

I had a tough night, finished 5th in my heat so I started fifteenth in the feature. In the feature I was going forward till I had to stop to avoid a wreck and the car behind me didn't. Car got tore up again, I finshed ninth. Mod57

| Saeson Opener at Indee May 2nd 2009 |

Opening night at Independence Motor Speedway full of action

Independence – With just over 120 cars filling in the pits, the 3/8 mile looked to be full of action.
The highlight of the night was the IMCA Modifieds having a total of 35 cars entered for the field, 24 started the main event. From the start, Max Corporon seemed like the one to beat as he instantly took off. Troy Cordes and Adam Johnson were going back and forth for second. A caution kept the field bunched as Cordes now was hot on Corporon’s back bumper. Cordes tried going high but just couldn’t get around Corporon who was using the low line which looked to be the fastest. At the halfway point Corporon was still in the lead, Cordes, Johnson and Darin Duffy were battling for the top four positions. With the time limit rule coming into affect, Corporon took the win, Cordes, Duffy, Johnson and Vern Jackson rounded out the top five.
I changed several springs and rescaled the car and it made a huge improvement from the night before. I finished second in my heat race and started sixth in the feature. In the feature I was running fourth Jerry Luloff was on my outside and hit one of the monster ruts in the track. This shot his car into mine hobbled both of our cars. I managed a thirteenth place finish. Thirty five modifieds a great field of cars for our opening night. I hope they get a handle on the rough track. Mod57

It was windy and cold but we still got to race this past Sunday. In my heat I finished second which earned me a good starting position in the feature. The wind dried out the track and it was slick and dusty come feature time. I dropped like a rock from the front to the back, I had no forward bite. It was frustrating but I finished twelfth. I’m struggling with the new car it handles like a dream but I need to get it hooked up. Don Erger with his plain white car with only an orange number six taped on the door started on the pole. His car wouldn’t win the car show, but looks are deceiving. Don schooled us all and drove away from the field for the victory. Troy Cordes gained ground in the closing laps while Don dealt with a few lapped cars and finished second. Joe Docekal took third ahead of Max Corporan who started the race fourteenth. Buster Pate had a solid run and finished fifth. This coming Saturday is Independence Motor Speedways season opener; hope to see you at the track. Mod57

Got the new car banged up pretty good in the heat race. Really didn't think I'd make the feature but got help from alot of people. Managed to finish tenth with a crippled car.

| Season opener this weekend at Benton County Speedway |

It has been a long winter and it’s finally time to go racing. Weather permitting we will be at Benton County Speedway’s season opener this Sunday. We have a new chassis and really looking forward to hitting the track to try it out. Still have Ford power under the hood dad and I finished it last week. We are ready to go, see you at the track.
